He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way, to be generous in every way, which will produce thanksgiving to God. (ESV) II Corinthians 9:10-11
Nosh: This is how God’s economy works. As we are generous with others, especially the poor and needy, God is generous with us. As we sow by sharing our resources with others, God directs more resources to our management. He increases our supply of blessing, which enables us to give and share that blessing to more people, thus bringing glory to God. I have found that living a giving and sharing life and being an active partner in God’s generous economy rather than my own self-centered enterprise is a much more fulfilling and rewarding lifestyle. As the Messiah Yeshua says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
